State Science Award for 2007

Dr. Katica Biljaković,  research advisor of the Institute was awarded the Annual National Science Award in the field of natural sciences for the year of 2007.

"Research advisor of the Institute of Physics in Zagreb is awarded for significant scientific achievement in natural sciences, in the physics of condensed matter, as well as for the distinct scientific work which is outstanding by its conceptual originality, and which reflects itself in the discovery of the new type of glass, the so called superstructural glass, which appears on the level of modulled superstructure within the otherwise structurally ordered systems. This discovery has enhanced the understanding in the wider area of condensed matter physics of complex systems."
