Conference: C-MAC Euroschool in Material Science 2017: Physical properties I – electrons, phonons and interactions in complex systems10 — 15/09/2017
Split, Croatia

http://euroschool2017.ifs.hr/

C-MAC (European Integrated Center for the Development of New Metallic Alloys and Compounds – www.eucmac.eu) is organizing on an annual basis the C-MAC European School in Materials Science. This follows the Euroschool organized by the CMA network of excellence from 2006 to 2010. Previous Schools were organized in France (Toulouse, 2011), Germany (Dresden, 2012 and Bayreuth, 2013), UK (Liverpool, 2014), Slovakia (Bratislava, 2015) and Belgium (Antwerp, 2016).

The title of the Euroschool 2017 is Physical properties I – electrons, phonons and interactions in complex systems – it will review basics of electron and phonon properties, and their interactions in complex systems.

The aim of the Euroschool is to provide a lecture-style background to young scientists, PhD students and graduate students. Lectures include pedagogical introductions followed by tutorials where participants will apply acquired knowledge to specific problems. The Euroschool 2017 will address topics that cover influence of structural complexity to electron and phonon properties, and some manifestations of electron-phonon interaction (like polarons, superconductivity, charge and spin density waves) in particular. Complex metallic alloys have strong application potential, from which introductory to thermoelectrics and catalysis are included.

For the details regarding the scope, list of speakers, the format, the venue, please visit Euroschool web site, http://euroschool2017.ifs.hr/, where on-line registration and abstract submission forms will be available soon.

Registration deadline is July 1.
